#1 The Shining

The Shining is a classic horror film that has been shown on Halloween for decades. Some people say it’s scarier than the real thing. But we know better than to believe in such silly superstitions and spooky tales, right? Wrong! The truth is, there are many similarities between the events of this cult-classic movie and our everyday lives.

#2 A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place is a horror film directed by John Krasinski and written by Bryan Woods, Scott Beck, and John Krasinski. The movie stars Millicent Simmonds as Regan Abbott, Noah Jupe as Marcus Abbott, Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott, and John Krasinski as Lee Abbott. The film follows a family who must live in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt human sound. It’s an intense ride with some flaws but overall worth the watch!

#3 Candyman

The Candyman is a horror movie that stars Tony Todd as the title character. It’s about a man named Daniel Robitaille, who after being given candy by an old woman at his father’s funeral, starts having visions of her and hears strange music. He becomes convinced that she is trying to contact him from beyond the grave…turns out he was right!

The Candyman kills people with hookah pipes, which are used in place of knives like most serial killers use. The film does not shy away from gore or violence; it has some very bloody scenes that will make you cringe. Overall, I would give this film two thumbs up for originality and scares!

#4 Halloween

Halloween is a horror film that has had some mixed reviews. Some people say it’s too gory and scary, while others find the movie to be campy and fun. Which side of the spectrum do you land on? What are your thoughts after watching this movie? I’ll leave it up to you to decide for yourself!

#5 Scream

The plot of the movie revolves around teenagers being brutally murdered by an unknown killer who is wearing a ghost mask. One night, two high school students are chatting on their phones when they notice someone outside the window with a knife and point it out to each other before one of them gets killed.

It turns out this person was just playing games with her friends but becomes scared after being confronted by them because she didn’t know they were there. This story follows Sidney Prescott as she tries to figure out who’s behind all these murders while trying not to get caught herself! What will happen? You’ll have to watch it to find out.

#6 IT

Do you remember what it was like to be a child and have a vivid imagination? IT The Movie takes you on a journey back in time with the Losers’ Club as they face their deepest fears, including Pennywise the Dancing Clown. It’s an experience that is so much more than just watching a movie!

#7 Saw

“Saw” is a popular horror movie from 2004. The protagonist, Jeff, wakes up in a bathroom and finds himself chained to the wall by his ankle. He has no idea how he got there or what’s going on. From that point on, he spends most of his time trying to figure out who put him there, what they want from him, and how to escape the bathroom alive.

If you want to get into the spirit of Halloween, what better way than with a horror movie? Whether it’s an old classic or a modern-day thriller, there are plenty available for all tastes. Happy Halloween!
